I’m a big fan of Edward Hopper’s art. I shared with you the book about him that’s part of my art library. I originally fell in love with his painting Early Sunday Morning and his Railroad Sunset hangs in my train room.

Hopper’s most famous work of art is Nighthawks. A small print of it now hangs in the Tiki Lounge. I picked up this print the last time I visited the Art Institute of Chicago, where I was lucky enough to also see the original. As if I couldn’t love the Windy City any more!

It’s funny to me that Nighthawks is as famous for its spoofs as it is for the original. One of the classic parodies, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, features stars like Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley at the same nighttime diner. For me, I’ll take the original Hopper.
